The Waste/Franchise Services Section oversees and administers the following programs: Solid Waste and Recycling Programs: The City has franchise agreements with both Waste Management (G. I. Industries) and Anderson Rubbish Disposal and implements and manages the City's Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan, coordinates curbside recycling (Three Can Residential Trash Collection brochure), multifamily and commercial recycling/composting programs, and waste diversion programs (Free Reuse, Donate, Recycle program).
Cable Television: Time Warner Cable and AT&T U-verse are State franchised providers of cable television in Simi Valley. The City also partners with Time Warner Cable to broadcast City Council meetings and Planning Commission meetings on the City's Government channel 10 and public access programming in Ventura County and surrounding communities on channel 25. Animal Regulation: The City contracts with the County of Ventura Department of Animal Services to provide animal control services. Dog licenses may also be purchased at Simi Valley City Hall (map) at the Customer Services Counter. Vector Control: The City coordinates vector control services with the County of Ventura Department of Environmental Health by providing information regarding insect transmitted diseases and rodent control.
